Camp Themes!

Culinary Campers

Our learning kitchen will be the setting for our culinary explorations.  Healthy choices, math, and science learning will be served up as we explore a range of recipes.  Food isn’t the only focus, we will learn about kitchen prep and clean up as we work together to create communal meals and shared experiences.

Great Outdoor Explorers

Campers will discover the natural resources right outside our doors in nearby Capitol Crescent Trail and other local trails. Not only will we be enjoying adventures in nature, but we will also learn the tenants of leave no trace explorations, and create mini-habitats to take home.

Summer STEAM

We are not talking about the temperature!  Campers will enjoy a week of play and exploration that encourages new discoveries, critical thinking, and enhanced observational skills during this hand on/minds on week of building and creating.

Artist at Work

We explore a variety of materials and processes while we create group art projects and individual works of art. Campers will be encouraged to express their creativity while they learn about artistic styles, become familiar with well-known artists, and better understand how to communicate ideas through art.

Green Thumb Gardeners

Dirt, sun, seeds, and water combine to teach campers about planning and nurturing a garden while promoting healthy eating. Campers will plan and construct the Wonders summer garden and create their own mini gardens to take home.

Super Hero Academy

Campers Assemble! It takes more than a mask and a cape to be a superhero (even though we will make those as well). Each camper will create their own persona and learn what it takes to serve the community with superhero qualities like respect and healthy choices. Campers then graduate from our superhero academy!

Wacky Olympics

Campers will challenge themselves and each other while playing fun-filled games and campers’ favorite team sports.  We will focus on building skills, playing respectfully, and leadership development.

*Trailblazers

Back by Popular Demand! Rising 4th – 6th grade campers will hit the trail to explore and learn about a variety of sites in the metro DC area.  We will travel by Metro rail and bus to sites big and small: museums, historic sites, outdoor art and murals, Washington Mystics, and playgrounds.
