What is the daily Program schedule at Wonders?

Depending upon Program and site, Wonders adheres to the following schedule:
Early Childhood    7:30 am – 6:30 pm
Pre-Kindergarten    9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Before School    7:00 am – First bell
After School    Dismissal bell – 6:30 pm

What are the hours for the Full Day and Half Day Extended Day Programs?

Wonders provides care when schools are closed for certain holidays and for all teacher meetings. On Full Days, the Extended Day Program begins at 7.00 am and ends at 6.30 pm. On Half Days, the Program begins at dismissal (usually 12.00 or 12.30 pm) and ends at 6.30 pm.

What’s the enrollment policy for the Drop-In Program?

There are two options. The first is that the Program is automatically available to an Early Learning or Extended Day child who attends a Program on a regular part-time basis and occasionally needs an extra day of care. Alternatively, in our Extended Day programs a child can be enrolled as Drop-In only.

When are tuition payments due?

Tuition payments are due the first of each month.

How can I pay tuition?

Many families pay tuition by signing up for EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Payments can also be made by check or money order and mailed to our business office at: 5272 River Road, Suite 503, Bethesda, MD 20816. If you prefer, you can also deposit your payment in the Tuition Box at your Program site. Please note: You will be charged a late fee of $30.00 if your balance is not paid in full by the 10th of the month.

You may also elect to pay by credit card for a fee of 2.50% of the payment for tuition, camp tuition, donations and other fees. We accept Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit card. To make a payment using your credit card, please call the Wonders business office at 301-654-5339.

When do enrollment forms need to be submitted?

All necessary forms must be completed and returned to the Program’s Director before your child’s first day of attendance.

What if I need to make a change to my child’s enrollment schedule?

On or after Oct. 1, you may send a written request for a change to your Program Director and it will be honored in its order of receipt. No changes can be accepted between Aug. 1 and Oct. 1. All enrollment changes are subject to availability and made at your Program Director’s discretion.

What happens if I’m late picking up my child?

If you pick your child up after closing, you will need to sign a Late Pick Up form upon arrival, and a fee of $30.00 will be assessed for the first 15 minutes (or any portion of that time). The same will apply to any additional 15 minute period, or portion thereof (e.g. If you are 10 minutes late, your fee will be $30.00; if you are 16 minutes late, your fee will be $60.00).

What are the health guidelines at Wonders?

Wonders health guidelines have been developed in conjunction with our consulting physician and are in compliance with DC and Maryland licensing requirements. At all times, it is our goal to curtail illness and maintain healthy environments in our Program centers. Please click here for complete information on our health guidelines, medical emergencies, and related subjects including nutrition, weather policies, clothing and suspected cases of child abuse.

For immediate reference, a child who becomes ill at one of our centers will be removed from classroom activities to rest until a parent or designee arrives. Upon notification, we expect a parent or guardian to pick the child up promptly, or we will need to notify your emergency contact. In the case of a fever, the child is required to remain at home for at least 24 hours after the fever has broken.

How will I be notified about delayed openings or closings due to inclement weather?

At the very top of each and every page on our website is an alert bar where we will post that information in a timely manner.
